The Kingsway
The Kingsway is a well established premier neighbourhood offering well sized family homes with picturesque tree-lined pedestrian friendly streets. The Kingsway Village located on Bloor St. offers residences a small-town shopping experience with all the amenities including schools, churches and recreation. Another perk of the area is Kingsway Park located in the forest setting of Humber River Valley. Easy access to Bloor-Danforth subway line is found on Bloor St. West.
Homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1925- 1950 and are some of the cities best examples of Old English architecture. Stately stone exteriors, intricate brick work and Tudor styled stucco homes comprise the areas home styles. Features include solid oak, leaded glass windows, decorative trim work, cast iron railings and exterior lamps.
A few Edwardian and Victorian homes were built in the early 1900s along Government Road near Dundas St. as well as modernist bungalows from the 1940s and 1950s.
